e-Shelf

e-Shelf allows you to save and organise items that you find during your searches.

When you select the 'star' icon for an item in the search results, the system highlights the icon and adds the item to the Basket folder in e-Shelf.

Saving a page of results to e-Shelf

To solve a whole page of results to your e-Shelf click on the star next to "Add page to e-Shelf" on the bottom left-hand corner of the page.

Access e-Shelf by clicking on e-Shelf at the top right hand corner of MultiSearch.

Tips! post-it note If you are not signed in to MultiSearch your e-Shelf contents are temporary and held only for the current search session. If you sign in your e-Shelf contents are held permanently and can be accessed any time you like.

View items

Viewing Items saved in e-Shelf

1.To view items that are saved in e-Shelf, click the Basket folder or any of its subfolders.

2. From the list of items, click the item that you want to display.

1. Manage folders by selecting the icons New  to create, RenameCopyPaste and Delete folders from the e-Shelf.

2. Click on the speech bubble to add a note to a folder.

1. Manage items: you can organise and move your saved items in your eShelf folders by selecting the icons CutCopy, Paste, Delete, Email and Print the selected items. 

2. Export citations to EndNote or Mendeley: you can add references to your EndNote or Mendeley library.

  • 2.1 Select citations to export by checking the box beside the item in your basket/ folder.
  • 2.2 Click on the Select how to save drop down menu - choose EndNote/Mendeley/RIS and Go.

3. Save a note: Click on speech bubbles to add notes to individual items in your e-Shelf folders.

4. Tags: You can assign words or phrases to items to help you organise and locate items later by adding a new tag.  Additionally, you can review items to share your opinions with others by posting your review.
