Finding specific journal titles

This box allows you to check if a journal is available electronically through the Library. It does not allow you to search for articles by topic (see the Multisearch box on this page).

Tip - if the journal is not available electronically, do a search for the journal title in the MultiSearch box to the right to see if it is available in print.

Top databases for finding articles on Statistics & Decision Sciences

  • MathSciNet
    MathSciNet is a citation and abstracts database covering the world's mathematical literature (journals, conference proceedings, books) since 1940. Links are provided to full text original articles and other original documents, when available. Formats for citations include BibTeX, AMSRefs, EndNote and MR Citation.
  • Current Index to Statistics
    CIS is a bibliographic index to publications in statistics and related fields produced by the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. It indexes core journals in the field and books published since 1975. To find full text, Search for the journal or book title using Multiserach (below) to check if the Library holds it.
  • JSTOR
    Provides full text access to back issues of the core scholarly journals. Users may browse by journal title or discipline, or may search the full-text or citations/abstracts. New issues of existing titles and new titles are added on an ongoing basis. The database is divided into multidisciplinary and discipline specific collections.
  • Scopus
    Scopus is a multidisciplinary abstract and citation database. Over 18,000 peer-reviewed journals in the scientific, technical, medical and social science fields, from more than 5,000 international publishers are covered. Also indexed are open access journals, conference proceedings, book series and trade publications, as well as patent records from 5 patent offices. References go back to 1996, while abstracts go back further. Linking to full-text articles is available.
  • ScienceDirect
    ScienceDirect is a database that contains the full text of Elsevier books, journals and reference works and also includes citations and abstracts of other journals. Subject coverage emphasises the life, medical, technical, and physical sciences, but there is also coverage of the arts, business, management, social sciences and psychology
  • Web of Science
    Web of Science consists of 7 citation databases (Science citation index expanded, Social sciences citation index, Arts & humanities citation index, Conference proceedings citation index - science, Conference proceedings citation index - social science & humanities, Book citation index - science, Book citation index - social sciences & humanities) containing information from thousands of scholarly journals and conference proceedings in all areas of research. The databases contain the references cited by the authors of the journal articles they cover. The cited references can be used as search terms, allowing a published work to be used to find other, later works that cite it.
  • SIAM [Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics] Journals Online
    Full text articles from journals of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Electronic issues are published on an article-by-article basis in advance of the corresponding print issues
  • arXiv.org e-Print archive
    A searchable e-print service for research papers communicating ongoing research information in statistic and related subject areas
