First time users need to complete Induction Training with Library Staff before operating equipment.
No food or drinks inside the space.
The VRoom is a shared space – please treat the equipment and other users with kindness and respect.
Switch off all equipment when finished
Report any damages or issues to Library Staff
3D Printer and 3D scanner:
For safety reasons the 3D printer will be turned off when the library closes.
Limited to 10 hours of use per month per person. If you have exceeded your quota you will not be able to book the printer and therefore not allowed to print.
Minimum session booking of 2 hours. Time slots available in 30 minute increments.
Failure to show up within 15 minutes of your booking will result in your booking potentially being cancelled.
Please see staff at the Collection Point before accessing the space.
Please preview how long your job will take, and make sure that it can be completed by closing time before commencing to print.
Printing of unlawful, dangerous, obscene or otherwise offense material is not permitted.
Printing of material that is subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection is not permitted.
Please refrain from using your own filament for printing as this could cause damages to the Library's 3D printer. If you do use your own filament, please let Library staff know.
Using your own Maker account - when printing, if you log into your own MakerBot account, please remember to log out and let Library staff know so we can sign back in with the Library's Maker account for the next user.
HTC Vive Virtual Reality equipment:
Maximum 2 hour sessions per day per person
User MUST be accompanied by a buddy for safety reasons.
If someone is using the VR headset, remember they can’t see or hear you, please give them plenty of space.
If you feel sick at any time, immediately STOP and remove headset. If you continue to feel unwell, please consult your doctor.
For Buddies - Please monitor user closely for any of the following symptoms: seizures, loss of awareness, eye strain, eye or muscle twitching, involuntary movements, altered, blurred, or double vision or other visual abnormalities, dizziness, disorientation, impaired balance, impaired hand-eye coordination, excessive sweating, increased salivation, nausea, lightheadedness, discomfort or pain in the head or eyes, drowsiness, fatigue, or any symptoms similar to motion sickness.
WARNING:PLEASE DO NOT LOGIN WITH PERSONAL STEAM/VR ACCOUNTS. All users must use the default Library Steam account to ensure ongoing access to service and apps the Library has on offer.
