Make sure that 'Books, Articles & more' is selected from the drop-down menu.
Enter into the search box a book title, or any keywords, or anauthor's last or first name and click to run the search.
2. Refine your search using the filters
Use the filters in the left-hand column to refine your results. For example, if you are looking for books, select 'Books' in 'Resource type' and click on 'Apply filters'. This will limit the results to show only ebooks and books in the print collection.
If you would like to see only the results from ebooks, in 'Availability' select 'Full Text Online' and then click on 'Apply filters'.
You will note that as you select different filters they are listed to the left of the results. You can click the 'x' to remove any of the filters applied.
3. Access or request the item
If the book is an ebook you will see a link either to 'Full-text available' or 'Online access'. Click on this link.
On the next screen, under 'View It', look for the blue hyperlinked text. Click this text to access the ebook.
If the book is in the print collection you will see Hold/ARC Request. Click 'Hold/ARC request'.
If the record says Available at Macquarie University LibraryLevel 1 / Level 2, it means the item is on the open shelf.
Check for its Call Number (to determine the book's location on the shelf) and Status (whether it is on the shelf or out on loan).
If the call number starts with letters from A to J, the book will be on Level 2 (Entrance Level).
If the call number starts with letters from K to Z, the book will be on Level 1.
If the record says Available at Macquarie University Library Automated Retrieval Collection, you will need to place a request for the item and then pick it up from the Hold shelf in Reserve Collection on Level 2 of the Library. Click here for more information on placing an ARC request.
