Using AI-powered Tools for Literature Reviews

Provides an overview to help you find, select, evaluate and use AI-powered tools to assist the literature review workflow

MQ library subscribed databases with AI functionalities

AI-powered tools available in our subscribed databases are designed to support and enhance your research—not replace it. These features operate within closed vendor systems, meaning they do not accept user-uploaded content. This setup can help ensure:

  • Greater accuracy and reliability of the data sources
  • Reduced copyright risks
  • Improved privacy protection

However, it's important to be aware of the current limitations of these tools, which stem from the evolving nature of large language model (LLM) technology:

  • Semantic search may outperform keyword search in specific cases, but not consistently across all queries.
  • AI-generated summaries can sometimes reference information not found in the actual document or misrepresent its relevance.
  • These tools only search content within their own platforms and do not access external sources.

Below is a list of current MQ database subscriptions that include AI features. More databases may be added in the future.
