When searching for journal literature on your topic, databases are often a better alternative than searching in MultiSearch. These may be subject-specific or cover many different topic areas.

Produced by the American Psychological Association, the database provides citations and abstracts to over 2000 journals in 35 languages, to book chapters and books in the English lanaguage.
Neurosciences abstracts. This link opens in a new window
This online searchable version of the print abstracts covers all aspects of vertebrate and invertebrate neuroscience, emphasizing basic research studies but also including neural diseases such as Alzheimer's.

A searchable database with nearly 550 full text titles, covering topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods. All the full text titles are indexed in PsycINFO. The material in this collection is also accessible by searching the multisubject Academic search premier.

CINAHL Complete is the world's most comprehensive source of full-text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 1,300 journals indexed in CINAHL (Cumulative index to nursing and allied health literature complete)
Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts: LLBA This link opens in a new window
Covering all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Complete coverage is also given to various fields of linguistics including descriptive, historical, comparative, theoretical and geographical linguistics.

This is the first and currently only public database of Australian Neurolaw cases. The database has a collection of both criminal and civil case law where neuroscience evidence was used, complete with original summaries.

Scopus is a multidisciplinary abstract and citation database. It covers a large number of peer-reviewed journals in the scientific, technical, medical and social science fields, from an extensive range of international publishers.
Academic Search Premier This link opens in a new window
A searchable multisubject database which contains full text for over 4,450 scholarly publications including more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals. Almost all academic areas of study are covered with some coverage extending back to 1975.

ClickView
ClickView provides access to thousand of videos for higher education related to foundational study skills, business, finance, health and science, video and media productions.
Both staff and students can access ClickView, but only staff can search titles from Australian free -to-air and commercial channels. This material should be shared with students via an embedded link in iLearn.

Kanopy
Kanopy is a video streaming platform hosted by Western Australian firm, Kanopy. This platform provides online access to a wide range of national and international movies, documentaries and television programs in streamed format. Via Kanopy Streaming Service, Macquarie University staff and students are able to access a selection of titles both on and off campus. Subject coverage varies depending on the titles for which Macquarie University Library currently holds a license.
