About ClickView

  • ClickView provides access to thousand of videos for higher education related to foundational study skills, business, finance, health and science, video and media productions.
  • Both staff and students can access ClickView, but only staff can search titles from Australian free -to-air and commercial channels. This material should be shared with students via an embedded link in iLearn.
  • Titles within this resource have been communicated under the Statutory Licence pursuant to s113P(2) of the Copyright Act 1968 for the educational purposes of the University. Use is for teaching and learning purposes only.

Uses for ClickView

On the homepage, go to the  ''Explore my subjects" link at the top to explore areas of interest, or use the search bar above.

  • Add titles to your playlist by clicking on the icon to the right of the video title.
  • Access your playlists from the menu bar on the left hand side. Your playlist can contain many individual folders with your unique names. Play with the control options to create clips for embedding, or supporting an assignment presentation.
  • Visit the App Store to download and install the app onto iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches with iOS v12+, Macs with macOS 11.0 and M1 chips or later, and Apple TV with tvOS 9.1 or later.
  • Visit Google Play to download and install the app onto tablets and smartphones with Android 7 or later.

Teaching staff

  • Embed videos to develop students' literacy and practical skills.
  • Interactive layers can be added to any video within ClickView.  Educators can pick from a series of question types and choose at exactly what point in a video these questions appear. For further details and other functionality options, refer to Clickview's guides.
  • The Exchange Archive and Clickview TV (not available to students unless linked by teaching staff) will broaden your selections, including films, documentaries, theatre and television series.
  • Go to the Exchange Archive, and then News and Current Affairs, to see programming for the last month for most Australian networks. 
 

Use the 'Discover' tab to navigate to the ''Explore my subjects" homepage.  

To save a title for later viewing and editing

  • Select the required video.
  • Select the '+ Add to playlist' button directly beneath the video player.
  • Select the 'Playlists' tab in the menu bar on the left.
  • NB. You may need to request a desired video if it has not already been added to Macquarie's list of available titles .

Create a clip from a video

  • Select a video from your playlist and click on the title. Under the three ellipsis sitting under the video choose "create clip". 
  • Enter the desired start and end points with the easy to use time markers. 
  • Give your clip a name when prompted. 
  • The new clip will automatically be saved in the "My videos" folder in the left hand menu. 

Share a video or embed it in iLearn

  • Choose a title in your Playlist and click on the video.
  • Use the ''share" button under the video to access "create link or embed code to share" option.
  • Copy the embed code.
  • Log into iLearn, turn on editing and navigate to the required section. Select 'Add an Activity' or 'Resource' (e.g., 'Page').
  • Select the 'Toolbar Toggle' Toolbar toggle icon > Select the 'Edit HTML source' button Edit HTML source icon .
  • Paste in your code (copied from the embed function) and click 'Update'.
  • Click on 'Save and return to Unit'.
