EndNote software can be used to record full bibliographical details for each citation and additional notes relating to the selection and evaluation of that source. Most databases have the function to allow direct export of citations from databases to EndNote.
EndNote software can be used to:
- Download records from databases
- Group records (using Create from Groups to get totals for PRISMA)
- Check for duplicates
- Create custom fields to store reviewer comments (and editing Reference Type preferences)
- Add text to multiple records simultaneously
