Requesting interlibrary loans

Macquarie University and Hospital staff and postgraduate students (including honours students in their honours year) are eligible to request Interlibrary Loans. Items not held by the Library can be requested directly through MultiSearch:

  1. Log in to MultiSearch (top right of the screen)Multisearch Log in button
  2. Search to see if the Library already holds the required item. Expand beyond library collections link
  3. If it is not held by Macquarie, use the ‘Expand beyond library collections’ link, and search again to see if the item appears.
  4. When you have found what you are looking for, check to see if any ‘Request it for me’ options have appeared.
  5. Use the ‘Request it ’ options to request your interlibrary loan. This is the preferred option.
  6. If you still cannot find your item or there is no ‘Request it’ option available: at the top of your search results will be a link "Didn't find what you need? MQ Staff and Postgraduate students place request here". This links to a manual request form - please complete as many details as possible. Requests made this way typically take longer to process.
  7. You will receive an email when the requested item is available. Physical items can be collected from the collection point on level 2 of the Library. Chapters and articles will be sent as an email attachment or download link.
